Fluffy Carnage is a roguelite hack'n slash action game where players control Chii, a chinchilla on a mission to reach her office, no matter the cost. Battle through twisted worlds, defeat cosmic entities, and survive the madness in this chaotic, fast-paced adventure.

I'm leading a team of 10 in the development of Fluffy Carnage. My main role is Lead Programmer, overseeing a team of three programmers and guiding the technical direction. I manage the implementation of core gameplay mechanics, systems architecture, and overall project structure, ensuring high-quality execution across all stages of development.

Our game is still in the early stages of development, and the characters are so busy fighting cosmic horrors that they haven’t had time to film any trailers. My Contributions

Project Management & Collaboration

  • Led and managed a team of 10 individuals, ensuring timely progress and alignment with project deadlines, while fostering clear communication and maintaining team morale.
  • Coordinated and communicated regularly with publishers & investors
  • Actively participated in industry fairs and events to promote the project, network with potential partners.
  • Implemented Agile methodology using sprints for iterative development and quick feedback cycles.
  • Adopted Kanban for ongoing tasks and continuous improvements, optimizing workflow.

Gameplay Mechanics & Technical Development

  • Led the creation and development of all gameplay systems including core gameplay mechanics.
  • Developed a robust communication system with dynamic content display, ensuring smooth player-NPC interactions.
  • Integrated FMOD for dynamic sound design and worked closely with the sound engineer to ensure seamless integration of sound and music elements into gameplay.

Code Architecture & Best Practices

  • Oversaw all coding efforts while adhering to SOLID principles for maintainable and scalable code.
  • Led the programming team of 2 additional programmers, structuring and refactoring code, improving both the performance and readability of the codebase.
  • Utilized version control and GitHub for team collaboration, ensuring consistent versioning and efficient integration of new features.

Sound Design Integration

  • Integrated FMOD into the project.
  • Collaborated with the sound engineer to integrate dynamic sound design using FMOD.
  • Worked closely with the sound team to ensure smooth integration of sound elements and ensure high-quality audio integration across all game systems.

Tool Development

  • Designed and developed custom tools for Unreal Engine 5 and Blender, enabling better workflow efficiency and facilitating more effective asset creation.

Collaboration & Team Leadership

  • Coordinated tasks with other team members, ensuring timely delivery of game systems and features, and maintaining high-quality standards.
  • Fostered a collaborative and inclusive environment where team members could contribute ideas and work towards the project’s success.
